Here is the answer to fighting a massive fleet of enemy ships, to make seemingly unending space battles much more entertaining:

1. Build a fleet similarly numbered to the one you're fighting.

2. Your space station must be at either level 4 or level 5.

3. Send one vessel after another at the enemy capital ships and frigates, corvettes included. Destroy the missile corvettes so they wouldn't cause trouble.

4. Once the enemy fleet runs low on ships, destroy them. When playing as the Imperials, keep your Gravity Well Generator on to prevent retreat.

I'm sorry, but your solution is "outnumber them" and "throw everything at them." The missile thing is actual strategy... so I'll give you that. The rest is RTS 099.

I hotkey my fighters as (1), my corvettes as (2), my bombers as (3), and everything else under two groups (4) and (5). Fighters draw enemy fire, corvettes destroy fighters and bombers make a beeline for shield generators. My (4) group engages enemy capital ships (Basically anything not a fighter or a corvette) and my (5) group attacks the space station once the shields are down. Yay.

Hmm. Usually I key them capital combatants (1), corvettes (2), bombers (3), fighters (4), and bombardment (5).

In GalCon(Galactic Conquest) i can usually ward off all enemy fleets with a level 2 or above station.(any faction) ie, i have defeated Thrawn, Piett & The Ark Hammer with a lv 2 rebel station by sending bombers to break their engines and hangers.

That works against capital ships, but when you get blitzed by a hundred frigates...
