Story:

Blackmoon:

Jusek’s eyes adjusted to the harsh light. It had been years since he had experienced the touch of the sun on his skin, from his dark ceil he could not see anything but the scum of his existence but now he could see through that into a bright new world. Two guards came to the door and motioned him to step forward. “Has it really been that long? Is my time really up?” Jusek thought as he stepped forward into the well lit hallway. His questions were quickly answered by the chaos outside, he could hear explosions in the distance and the guards seemed to be in a hurry to get everyone out. The two guards guided him by the shoulder through the prison and finally coming to a halt outside of the gates and then departed back into the dark depths of the prison. Jusek stood there feeling the wind blow between his pale fingers savoring every moment, the air was tainted with the smell of smoke but to Jusek is was the sweet aroma of freedom…

Empire of Darkness:

The wind howled, only briefly interrupted by the distant explosions. Jusek shielded his eyes from dust as it was blown around by the wind. The reality of his situation was slowly beginning to creep into his mind. He heard only whispers of the war while in prison; news rarely traveled from guards to prisoners, and most of their information is seen through the cell windows. The first explosions had occured early that morning, and were seen through his own cell's window. It was a reminder to him of why he had been placed in that cell for the last seven years...

Victor von doom:

He thought he saw a piece of building flying at him when shade engulfed the region nearby. His vision was blurred from the explosions the seemed to overwhelm the guards. He saw another explosion kill two people in the distance, wether they were man or woman, guard or prisoner he could not tell. After two minutes, when the shadow had moved away, and he had not been harmed, he snapped back to reality. He had to get off this rock of a world.

Blackmoon:

Jusek struggled to get to his feet; he couldn’t see much through the dense smoke and debris but pulling his shirt up to his face and squinting his eyes; he pressed on. He continued until he was out of the thick cloud of broken cement and durasteel, taking two deep breathes of fresh air he licked his dry lips. His eyes flickered left to right trying to get some bearing on where he was, he looked back at the prison the smoke had partly cleared and he was now able to see its ruins. With the building ripped open he could see his ceil, that small room had been his only companion in the years of his confinement and now it was torn to pieces, for years all Jusek knew was that ceil and not anything beyond it. Turning his back to the prison and walking away hurt, more than anyone could know, but Jusek did it knowing it had to be done…

Empire of Darkness:

The city was already in massive ruin by the time Jusek made his way down the hill that lead up to the prison. His torn prison shirt covering his nose, he looked the same as the few civilians that hadn't evacuated the city when initial word of a rebellion from Sector 12 came to everyone's ears. Jusek knew the first thing he should do is to find some one who knew what exactly cause Sector 12 to rebel. He stumbled down the street, looking for any signs as to where he was. Dust covered every inch of the street, visibility was damn near impossible, and the explosions were getting louder. Jusek rounded a street corner to see several soldiers attempt to quell the insurgency with violence. A civilian woman ran up to Jusek, threw her arms over his shoulders, and hung off of him.

"Get out!" she shouted. "Get out, now!" He looked at her eyes, which despite the heat and dust were wet with tears. She slumped down, her grip loosened, and her head hit the ground. Her back was covered with blood from a wound, likely from an explosion. Jusek was stirred as he saw more civilians duck inside an old building, and decided to follow them inside to get some answers.

Victor von doom:

"What the hell is going on here?!" he screamed as he entered the building. The building was clearly an abandoned hotel, that had been shelled more then once, he decided after looking around. Small wood splinters covered the desk and the rest of the room. There was an occasional piece of wood on the floor. The lamps which had once stood tall, were knowcked over, shattered. There were whispers when the echo began to reach the rest of the building. Then, the building shook, and the door was blasted open. In stepped three soldiers, each dripping with sweat, and covered in blood...

Blackmoon:

As the soldiers came closer Jusek noticed one was severely injured, his leg from the knee down was riddled with blaster fire. The other soldier helped his companion to the nearest standing table and pulled out a vibroknife. Jusek winced at the thought, he turned his head trying to find something else to put his attention on he noticed two children in the corner crying as they watched every moment as the soldier screamed with pain. This terrifying scene was broken by piercing sound pf blaster fire. Jusek walked cautiously up to the shattered window, he could see more soldiers marching outside but dressed in a different uniform than the ones in the room. The soldier on the table screamed again. “Shut him up.” whispered a man behind Jusek. Looking over his shoulder Jusek peered at the screaming soldier; blood was everywhere his newly amputated leg laid below the table and the other soldier was trying to cover his mouth up with some sort of cloth but to no avail. Jusek turned his head back to the window, his heart pounding; one of the soldiers out side took notice to the screams and began to stride toward the building. “Shit” the man behind him said faintly…

Empire of Darkness:

The soldier crept closer, and raised his blaster rifle to his shoulder, ready to blast the first thing he saw. Jusek moved into the shadows, and the soldiers moved their wounded comrade into another room. One of them gave him enough medicine to knock him out. Creaking under the enemy soldier's feet, the floor was littered with debris. Cielings had collapsed, windows blown out, and holes from explosions riddled every part of the building. Outside another loud explosion, fairly close to their location, caused the lights to flicker and ultimately fade. The enemy soldier had a communication's device on him, and it started to sputter muffled words. He pulled it out of his pack to hear what his allies were trying to say.
"The power generator for this sector has been destroyed, all units report back to HQ," the command ordered. Placing the comm device back into his pocket, he turned and started to head for the door. The wounded soldier started to wake up from his induced coma; it must have been too little. Pain enveloped his mind once more, and he let out a scream, that was quickly muffled again. The enemy soldier stopped once more, and turned towards the room they had taken him into. He took out his flashlight, and searched the room a little more thoroughly. He saw the blood on the ground and the table, and the small trail leading to the other room. His blaster once again was up to his shoulder, and his flashlight pointed towards the closed door. He held his gun and flashlight deftly in one hand and reached back into his pack. His hand came out with the comm unit. As soon as it reached his mouth, Jusek jumped out of the shadows and grabbed him, wrestling him to the ground. Hearing the commotion outside, one of the soldiers bursted through the door, weapon raised. He saw Jusek on top of the other soldier, who now was offering no resistance to Jusek. The soldier stepped closer.
"Get up," he said as he pointed with his gun. He knew Jusek wasn't his enemy, for he didn't have the enemy's insignia on his clothing. With his foot, he pushed over the other soldier's body. He was dead. On the ground, a metal piece of shrapnel was stuck in the floor, and the soldier had landed right on it, impaling him through his heart. The other soldier came out from the room.
"I lost him, there was nothing else I could do," he told him. He looked over at Jusek, who he hadn't really noticed before; he was too concerned with his fellow soldier's leg. "Who're you?"

"His name is Jusek," the other soldier replied. "Though the only question I have, is what exactly brought him to this hole?"

Crazed Ewok:

Surprised at hearing his name called by an anonymous soldier, Jusek slowly stood and held his hands up, showing that he had no weapons. He knew he couldn’t tell the soldier why he was here; he couldn’t reveal he was once a prisoner, though the walls of his cell were infinitively more comforting than this war-torn wasteland. Though, initially he had wanted to stay in his prison, something was leading him on, whether it was a sense of mystery or just an unconscious desire to be free. He did not want to go back and be shielded from reality for another few years. Whatever may come of it, he decided, he should get some answers. "I don’t know, I can’t remember," he said in a half-lie. He really didn’t know all the events going on. "I remember the rebels trying to, uh, kill me," Jusek said very bluntly, not used to the human-to-human interaction and trying to contain his nervousness. "Maybe you can tell me what’s been goin' on?" He asked slyly.

Empire of Darkness:

"The rebels have begun launching attacks," the soldier told Jusek. He knew Jusek was hiding something, but it was no reason to keep the truth of the war from him. "The local garrison did its best to quell the insurgents, but they spilled over to other sectors, taking out key command locations, effectively cutting this sector off from the rest of the city. We're all alone, here." Jusek looked around at the rubble, and out the window at the city in ruin. "To be honest, you picked the wrong sector to take refuge in," the other soldier chuckled as he walked by Jusek. The soldier checked outside to make sure no other guests were coming.
"My name is Galak," the first soldier said. His voice was calm, a bit raspy, almost like the stubble on his chin was affecting it somehow. A helmet covered his head, and apparently protected him from head injuries. Jusek could never understand how a small piece of plastic could do that. "This is Hayde," Galak nodded in the other soldier's direction. "We were a recon patrol. Were, until a shell blew up our radio...and part of our friend in there." Jusek looked past Galak into the room where the soldier had died. Galak joined Hayde by the door, where they whispered about what they were gonna do next.
Jusek had expected the soldiers to take him down, maybe arrest him again; he had killed... well, he had killed some one important to the rebels, but at the same time, he was important to the local governor. He was sentenced to ten years in prison. He served only seven. This war, some how, allowed him to be released. But he wonders why. There's only one man who can answer that question: the governor himself.

Lord Plagueis:

Jusek crawled through the ruins of the shelled apartment, revealing to him the cold touch of the battlefield. He quickly ran to the Reldum Square; the center of activities in this city, and the most likely place to find the governor. He saw ruins of statues, and paused for a moment, to stare upon the solemn face which had been missed by a bomb. He left the face there; and examined the buildings in ruins... he saw many faces, many bodies... but never had he once felt guilty for them. Why am I here? he asked himself, not quite sure the answer; but alas he knew something drew him here, aside from the map. As the last thoughts riveted through his mind; he felt a cold hand pulling him away…

Blackmoon:

Jusek swung around in alarm, but only to be greeted by a familiar face. He recognized her as Galena; she was just as beautiful as when he had last beheld her. It had been years and she had almost been erased completely out of his mind in that cell filled with nothing but his cold loneliness, and now she was standing in front of him. He wanted to grab on to her and never let go, to be with her for eternity; but that dream quickly met a sharp end as she trembled, Jusek finally looked past the thrill of seeing her again and noticed that her blouse was stained with blood. She fell to the earth gasping for air, Jusek quickly picked her up, he had to get her medical attention; he couldn’t bear losing her, not here and not now…

Empire of Darkness:

"Oh no, no no, Galena," Jusek uttered as he held Galena close to him. At this point he had regretted ever getting involved in this affair seven years ago. What had brought him to these dark times, to his current place with his love Galena dying in his arms had begun so long ago. Seeing her again brought back the very memory of his deeds. His evil deeds. It all came rushing back to him in an instant. The Butcher, he was known as in the prison. Punished for carrying out the orders of his superiors, killings innocents, sparking the Rebellion. He belonged to neither side. And he wanted nothing to do with either. Galena's hazel eyes stared into his, glistened from tears. Just like when he was sent to prison.

It was no mere coincidence that he came to this sector, of course not. His intentions there were to find Galena. Now it looks as though it is too late. A massive explosion behind him, two clicks away, lit up the night sky. He saw ahead an abandoned outpost, not too far, close enough to carry Galena towards and save her.

He wasn't sure where to go next, he had nowhere to go. But that didn't matter to him, he was free, after so many years, he was free. He picked up his backpack and started walking. He didn't know why, or where, but he didn't care. Jusek just kept on walking.

I doubt that my opinion matters, but Desere, Bryl, Batman and Furryrodian should go away.

I agree about Bryl and Batman. But Bryl because of his lack of maturity in trying to sign up, and last time I checked he was 'limiting' himself from the internet, so that means he won't be on as often as he may need to, and Batman because, well... he pretty much disregarded the whole point of the main post.

I haven't seen enough of Desere's or Furryrodian's writing to make a decision.

He pulled his hand over his slender, brown hair and took a deep breath. It was like traveling into the past, liberated and alone. His blue prison uniform was somewhat covered in a slim and thin layer of dust and sand, and as he turned around and looked at the great prison gate, made out of green, dust covered metal. Far in the horizon his eyes could spot the contour of a great tower, Solaris – Stretching towards the sky, reaching out for heaven with its steel arms. Not knowing why, he just began to walk towards it, into the weeping and crying wind.
