Topic Subject: Massive Imperial Fleet in Zann Cosortium Campaign

When I played the Zann Consortium campaign, right after the mission at Dathomir, Thrawn gives out his message to Tyber and then a massive fleet of about 15 to 20 Imperial Class Star Destroyers with Broadside Cruisers, several Victory Class Star Destroyers and a few Tartans as support would attack my base at Shola. It would result in a seemingly unending battle over Shola, due to the number of Imperial vessels attacking the planet and the huge salvage costs for every Imperial ship destroyed.

So... is there a problem with massive amounts of money, winning the battle, or something else?

Well, depends on which level my space station is. When I have a level 4 or 5 space station, I'm on an even playing field with the Imperials, even as they continuously send in reinforcements. Normally, I wouldn't trust in the Empire AI to send in challenging opponents during the battle, but the salvage costs gave me the upper hand.

If you're taking the time to capture planets, which you should, the battle should be at Nal Hutta, which is much easier to defend.

Yeah... I never fought at Shola. Always Nal Hutta. It could also be that you need to advance on the map, perhaps block spawn points? Or it's a large, but not infinite, fleet. I've had that problem playing on Galactic Conquest on Hard: the Rebels jump in with hundreds of fighter squadrons, but I can tear through them with corvette reinforcements. You just end up running around for about an hour, shooting anything with an X-Wing tag.

But I couldn't get the battle at Shola out of my head, true Star Wars fans could make a graphic novel about it, featuring interviews of surviving pilots from both sides of the battle.
